New Delhi: Indian Army Chief MM Narvane said that Indian troops are on high alert along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) keeping a close watch on the activities of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The army chief also said that India wants the status quo to be restored in April 2020.

The army chief said that China has deployed around 50,000 to 60,000 troops to the Immediate Depth in East Ladakh, so India has made similar deployments to Depth.

Narvane also said that Indian Army is watching the developments on the Chinese side. He said that India is currently focusing on solving outstanding problems with LAC at other disputed points like Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang.
