Dehradun: Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu review meeting of the Skill Development Department was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Sandhu today. During this, the Chief Secretary said that quality skill development can play an important role in the direction of employment.
He said that there is a need to focus on skill development from class 6 onwards to develop the skills according to the interest of the children. ITI trainers may initially visit nearby schools and organize a training class a week.
Trainers will also be given training in new technology
The Chief Secretary directed that the courses should be updated continuously and modern techniques should be used according to the need of the present and future in the State Institutes of Technology. He said that the trainers should also be trained in new technology.
Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu that a digital library should be arranged for children to get information about any technology online, as well as arrangements should be made to provide training to children directly in the industries by including industries in the schemes.
He said that training should be made available in the training institutes through new and modern equipment. For this modernization of ITI Lab should be done. On this occasion, Secretary Skill Development Shri Vijay Kumar Yadav along with other high officials of Skill Development Department were present.
