Srinagar Garhwal: Mamta Joshi Bahuguna, missing for 3 years from Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, is yet to be traced. Mamta went missing on 25 November 2019 under suspicious circumstances.
For 3 years, Mamta’s family members are wandering from door to door but they have not found any clue. In this matter, former cabinet minister Prasad Naithani has demanded intervention.
Missing report of Mamta was lodged in Srinagar Kotwali in November 2019 by her relatives, but till now no clue has been traced. Police also sent file related to incident to the court after putting up final report year ago.
According to the information received, daughter of Rajaram Joshi, resident of Chauras, Kirtinagar, suddenly went missing from her house at Nursery Road Mohalla, Srinagar. Next day, her elder brother Deepak Joshi lodged Mamta’s missing at Srinagar Kotwali. Mamta’s phone was at home, while her slippers were recovered from Naithana Jhula bridge.
Seeing possibility of jumping into the river, police, SDRF and water police launched search operation in Alaknanda river, but no clue was found.
Mamta’s younger brother Pradeep Joshi says that his family has been wandering in search of Mamta for two and half years. He has appealed from ministers to officials. At the same time, making serious allegations against police, he has said that police did not investigate the matter properly.
Case was lightened at behest of some influential people. Case was closed without getting to bottom of the matter. Therefore, an appeal has been made against police report in the court.
Other side, Srinagar CO Shyam Dutt Nautiyal told that no negligence has been done in search of Mamta. Along with searching in the river, he was also searched in other states.
Mamta did not even take phone with her. After many efforts, final report was sent to the court in May 2021 after she was not traced, however, police is still searching for Mamta Joshi.
