Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the digital flight program of Bodhisattva Vichar Series Uttarakhand organized at Chief Sevak Sadan located at Chief Minister’s residence office today. He interacted with the entrepreneurs associated with Common Service Centers and listened to their views and also took stock of the problems of the area after getting information about the services being provided at their level in rural areas.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that more than 1200 towers of 4G and 5G are being set up in the state. Thousands of villages of the state will be connected in Bharat Net Phase 2.
Chief Minister Dhami said that the present era is the era of technology and this new technology has brought a change in the country and the world. Education, health, employment, entrepreneurship, entertainment and governance are all impacted by technology. Today, the virtual-digital medium has emerged as a powerful medium in the world, which has set the village and countryside on a new standard of development in the world of internet and on higher levels.
He said that the method and policy of changing the country is related to this digital revolution. Uttarakhand is making its mark as a digital state, the digital engine it needs to climb higher levels of development, it is this common service center connected to every nook and corner of the state.
He said that the present time is of a revolution born out of a wonderful mix of mobile and internet, through this technology we will be able to take all the development plans to the last person standing in the last line of the society and achieve the goal of ideal Uttarakhand. Prime Minister Modi launched the Digital India program on 1 July 2014. For us, Digital India means that all government services can be made easily available to every person of the country. India accounts for 40 percent of the world’s digital transactions.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is now emerging as one of the fastest growing states in India due to huge increase in capital investment arising out of favorable industrial policy and liberal tax benefits. The objective of Digital Uttarakhand is to achieve new dimensions in employment generation, health, education and industrial development in the state. Today there are about 11474 CSCs in the state. These centers are run by entrepreneurs in rural areas, including a large number of women entrepreneurs.
He said that the effort of our government is to enable every person, so that they can use new digital technology to make their life easier and improve their livelihood. In this context, we have started PMG Disha program. The program was conducted by Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant did it. A large number of people including MLA Pradeep Batra and Director ITDA Amit Sinha were present on the occasion.
