Uttar Pradesh government has dismissed 841 law officers i.e. government lawyers of the state with immediate effect. The services of all public prosecutors appointed in the Allahabad High Court have been terminated. This order has been issued by Nikunj Mittal, Special Secretary, Law and Justice Department.
According to this order, 505 government lawyers of the state have been discharged from the Head Bench of the Allahabad High Court and 336 from the Lucknow Bench of the High Court. However, the reasons for which these lawyers have fallen, the reason for this has not been revealed.
In this change made by the administration, Additional Advocate General Vinod Kant has also been removed. Along with this, 26 additional permanent advocates were removed in the principal bench Prayagraj. 179 Permanent Advocates were also discharged. At the same time, 111 brief holder civil services have been abolished.
According to the order, the services of two Chief Standing Councils of Lucknow Bench have been terminated, along with 33 Additional Government Advocates have also been removed. 66 brief holders on the criminal side of the Lucknow bench have also been removed. In addition, 176 civil brief holders have been removed with immediate effect. The order also seeks to remove 59 Additional Chief Standing Councils and Standing Councils.
