New Delhi: Taking a big decision, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced to make temporary employees (Ad-hoc based) of Delhi Jal Board permanent. He said that the jobs of 700 contractual employees of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) have been made permanent and the echo of this decision will be heard in other parts of the country as well.

“It is a myth that ‘ad-hoc’ (contract) workers should not be made permanent, as it will allow them to become ‘permanent’, Kejriwal said during an event organized here to give certificates to the DJB personnel who have been made permanent. get lazy and don’t work much.”

He further said, “After we formed the government for the first time in 2015, when we revolutionized the education department or when we reformed the healthcare system, only government teachers, doctors and nurses did this work.”

He said that this move has also broken this myth and now having a sense of security, they will work twice as much.

The historic decision of the Delhi government was implemented by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself. He himself distributed the certificate of confirmed job to 700 employees.

Now demand will arise all over the country that when contract employees can be made permanent in Delhi, then why not in other states? According to the youth of the country, in the last 10-12 years there is a need to break the contractual employee recruitment system and recover from the exploitation.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “The big decision we have taken in DJB will be echoed in other parts of the country as well and people of other states will also start questioning that if it can be done in Delhi, then in other states. Why can’t it be done?”

He said that his government wants to make contractual employees’ jobs permanent in other departments as well, but due to administrative dependence on the central government, it does not have sufficient powers to do so. He said that since the DJB is an autonomous body, it was possible to do so in it.
