India Corona Update: India has seen a decrease in fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours, reporting 2,38,018 new infections and a total of 310 deaths. With the new deaths, the toll has reached 4,86,761.
There were 2,58,089 new cases and 385 deaths in the country. Meanwhile, the active figure has risen to 17,36,628, which is 4.62 per cent of the total number of positive cases in the country.
The number of Omicron infections across the country has risen to 8,891, an increase of 8.31 percent. With 1,57,421 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, the cumulative number has increased to 3,53,94,882.
India’s recovery rate is 94.09 percent. Also, a total of 16,49,143 tests were conducted across the country in the same period. India has so far conducted over 70.54 crore cumulative tests.
Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate has reached 14.92 per cent amid a sudden spike in cases. The daily positivity rate has come down to 14.43 percent.
With the administration of around 8 million vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID vaccination coverage has reached 158.04 crores as of Tuesday morning.
According to the Health Ministry, over 13.25 crore remaining and unused COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories as of Tuesday morning.
